Partly because the wonderful 1950’s caravan used as the focal point of the garden reminds me of caravan holidays in my childhood. Here, the idea is that the caravan provides a retreat in the garden for the owner. This is something I am planning for my own garden (not a caravan but maybe a wood cabin high up on the hillside at the top of the garden, with a log-burner for those chilly evenings and a verandah to sit outside and contemplate the fabulous view over Lewes towards the South Downs). I love the very naturalistic planting that Jo uses in her garden which includes grasses, white foxgloves, simple roses, astilbes, euphorbias – all very relaxed and inspirational. Jo won silver-gilt – she gets gold from me!
